Once again Camp1 will bring you a T1D Day Camp that allows T1Ds and their siblings ages 5-14 the opportunity to build friendships, have fun and experience nature and sports activities all while parents and caregivers enjoy their own free time. Camp1 also offers the optional (but highly suggested) opportunity for adults to connect and share in our Caregiver’s Corner each day for an hour or longer. We can’t wait to see you all at Camp!

Welcome to Camp1, a day designed to provide kids living with T1D the opportunity to hang out together in a fun, creative, active week of daycamp in the western Suburbs of Chicago.

Camp offers many benefits to both the campers, their siblings and their parents or caregivers who get to take a break from the daily management of T1D. Camp1 offers typical camp activities offered in a safe and supervised environment and allows for the growth of every camper that attends – just wait and see what happens to the confidence in these kids. Camp1 also offers an opportunity for parents or caregivers to have coffee talk after drop-off each day and create connections among each other while their kids meet and do the same.

Build Connections

Camp1 will enhance the overall well-being and confidence in T1D children by offering a typical day camp environment with medical supervision.

Camp1 Registration is OPEN!

June 9-13, 2025

You can click on the registration link on this page and it will take you to the initial online registration. You can then download all of the required forms and send them with your $100 deposit to reserve your camper spot. Final payment will be due on May 15th, 2025.

What to Expect

Medical Supervision

Camp1 will have medical guidance as the Camp activities are planned and a medically qualified volunteer available on site during camp. In our inaugural year of Camp1 we will not be administering Insulin and parents or caregivers will be asked to handle such administration. Camp1 will have snacks and sugar available in addition to whatever each Camper brings to Camp1.

Camp1 has programmed “Caregiver Corner” to coincide with the campers’ lunch which they will have together in their groups. Parents/Caregivers can then administer Insulin appropriately.

We are committed to creating a day camp that builds a strong community, boosts confidence with cool T1D soft skills, and spark connections through super fun networking events.

This camp was brought to fruition by T1D Veteran Moms in the community and their young adults who from their experiences know that T1D Day Camp is life changing.
